OLD TIGER

Hey y’all, Dustin here - just wanted to clue you guys into what’s happening in Tigerland. Some of you may know, we started doing this Old Tiger thing back in 2009, and ever since then it’s been an incredibly long string of constant shows, writing, recording, and rehearsing. Even though it’s been some of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever been a part of (and I’m sure the other guys can say the same), it can also be very tiring and can wear you down over time - especially if there aren’t any real breaks involved. Now it’s almost 4 years later and we’re finally at the point where putting our feet up and catching our collective breath doesn’t seem like a bad idea…..so that’s what we’re doing. We’ve all still got a lot on our tables, personally and otherwise, and that means you can still catch Matt & Eric tearing it up around town in The High Rolling Loners (and Eric in The Darrows), while I’ve got new albums with Boy King and a newly sprouted band with my friend Jake Najor, Chess Wars, coming out.  So if y’all don’t mind, we’re gonna use some of that long-accrued vacation time and hit you guys up down the line. Don’t forget about us. Please keep Love Have Mercy on blast (it’s our baby) - and take care of yourselves!

We had a blast up in Claremont at The Press and want to thank everyone that was there who made our show extremely special. Can’t wait to go back! Our next San Diego show is going down this Thursday at Soda Bar - and we’re playing with two fantastic bands: The Midnight Pine and River City! Talk about a rad lineup (with a super cool poster made by RC frontman, Jon Kruger). See y’all there! 

On January 18, we’ll be venturing out from the serenity of our scenic, cozy homes and traveling northward to Claremont, CA - where we’ll once again return to our favorite LA County haunt: The Press. Oh, how we’ve missed you. Last year found us hard at work on Love Have Mercy and it’s release - which nary left us an opportunity to perform out of town. But it’s a new year full of new adventures, and we couldn’t be happier to start playing again. If you’re in the area, come by and see us!

Well, our last show of 2012 is coming up, and if you’re keeping up with the Mayans - it might be the last show anyone plays anywhere EVER. On 12/21/12, we’ll be tearing up the Flying Elephant in Carlsbad with our phenomenal buds from North County: Shake Before Us. The show is $5 and we’ll be playing a couple new songs - so come on out and have some fun before we all disappear into space!

Well friends, last night was truly the highlight of anything we’ve done as a band. After three years, it all came together on that infamous and legendary Casbah stage - and we can say with all certainty, that it was a show we’ll never forget. For those of you that made that extra effort to be there to help us celebrate, we hope we made you proud. We’d also like to take a moment and thank the Heavy Guilt, Nena Anderson, The Red Fox Tails and all the stellar musicians that joined us onstage and helped us bring our record to life - we will always be indebted…
